Introduction to Hythe, England
Hythe is located in Shepway, which is on the southern coast of Kent. The small market town's name derives from the Old English word for Haven, and the town is abundant with pretty Georgian and medieval buildings. The seafront is a particularly popular place to visit during spring and summer months, as it boasts a promenade and several classic English cafes, all of which are located within close proximity to Hythe hotels. Venturing towards the town's hill will reveal the Church of St Leonard, which underwent renovations in 1750 after it was partially damaged by an earth tremor some 10 years earlier. The church is also well-known for containing an ossuary, which is a bone store that holds more than 2,000 skulls. Throughout the town and within its immediate surroundings there is plenty to explore such as the Hythe Dymchurch Railway, Brockhill Park and Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, which is open all year round. other spellings: hythehotels, hyth otel, hythey hotell, hithe hote, hythe hotles, hythe hotle, hythei hotes
