Introduction to Huntingdon, England
The historical town of Huntingdon is located in Cambridgeshire upon the River Ouse's banks. The town is famous for being the birthplace of Oliver Cromwell, who was a noted leader of the English Civil War. Religious buildings are abundant in the town and include St Mary's, St Barnabas and All Saint's churches, which can be found next to Market Square. Getting to the town is simple, with one of the most popular ways to get here besides driving being via train. The town is connected to Peterborough and London via First Capital Connect on a daily basis. Alternatively, visitors can fly to either London Stansted or Luton airports, which are both around one hour's drive away. There are plenty of Huntingdon hotels which are near popular attractions such as the race course, where frequent race meetings take place, and the Manor, which is one of the country's oldest-inhabited properties and is also famed for being the inspiration for the children's book Green Knowe.other spellings: huntingdonhotels, hantingdon otel, huntingdon hotell, huntingdon hote, hontindon
