Conveniently situated on the A6024 road to Woodhead is the small, peaceful town of Holmfirth. The pretty town is situated in the Holme Valley, thus it boasts a wonderful natural backdrop. Surrounding the town is the Peak District National Park, which is located only four miles away, thus the town is a great place for park visitors to stay overnight. Holmfirth hotels make a great base for travellers who wish to take daytrips to the national park. Even though the small town is relatively quiet and laid-back, there is plenty to do including going to the cinema, which is also used a venue for music concerts and theatrical performances.
