Steeped in rich history and culture, the small town of Hayle can be found in the county of Cornwall, in the southwest of England. Visitors to this historic harbour town will find an excellent range of modern amenities such as shops, restaurants and Hayle hotels, many of which can be found along the banks of the pretty Hayle River. One of the most popular attractions here is the large and lovely beach where water sports such as surfing can be enjoyed. The sand dunes situated at the edge of this three-mile stretch of golden sand are known as the Hayle Towans and are great places to wander. In fact, the town is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape, a World Heritage site. The landscape includes a number of heritage buildings, such as Godrevy Lighthouse, to the east of the dunes, and the 17th century Trevassack Manor.
