The south-eastern Hampshire town of Havant is conveniently situated between the two English towns of Portsmouth and Chichester, which also happen to be the largest settlements on the south coast. The town has experienced massive growth over the past four decades and is now home to over 116,000 residents. Havant offers railway connections to some of the United Kingdom's most important cities, such as London, Brighton and Portsmouth. Hotels in Havant tend to be located right in the heart of town, which also incidentally offers the greatest number of tourist attractions. These include the Arts Centre as well as two major shopping areas; the pedestrian mall on West Street and the Meridian Shopping Centre. For the nature enthusiasts, the town is home to a network of natural mineral springs, which makes for some fun outdoor exploration. The downtown district lies close to the A3 motorway, which leads to the western and northern parts of the town, while the A27 connects visitors to the east.
