Introduction to Gravesend, England
Gravesend is a moderately large township in the county of Kent in the United Kingdom. With more than 56,000 residents, the town is positioned upon the famed Thames Gateway, making the city an important settlement in the south-eastern part of England. Due to the location of the city on the coast, Gravesend has a strong maritime background. There are plenty of different attractions for visitors to explore when holidaying or passing through the town. Gravesend hotels are close to many of the most important landmarks in town, including the life-size Pocahontas statue, the Windmill Hill, the clock tower of Harmer Street and the historic town pier. There are several large roadways meandering their way through the town, such as the M2, M25, A2 and A13. However, travelling to the city is most efficiently done via the North Kent Line, as there is a conveniently located railway station in the heart of the town. An airport did serve the town until the 1950's, but the airfield has since been converted into a housing estate.other spellings: gravesendhotels, gravesemd otel, gravesedn hotell, gravesned hote, graveesnd hote
