The English town of Grassington is a settlement found in the district of Craven, Northern Yorkshire. It is perhaps most famous for its surrounding limestone formations, which attract a large number of tourists to the town each year. More than 1,000 people live in this small community, but the annual influx of tourists sees this number double and even triple during the warmer months of the year. A large local festival is hosted every spring and it is during this two-week extravaganza that the hotels in Grassington become crammed full of visitors. As it was already mentioned, the limestone landscapes of the town are perhaps the most frequented attractions. The Yarnbury Lead Mine and its opening shaft, as well as the Grass Wood with its old fort and the ever-popular cobblestone square are all attractions worth exploring. Getting into the town of Grassington is best achieved via the B6265 Highway, which connects the settlement to the A59 Highway some ten kilometres to the south.
