Introduction to Fowey, England
As well as being part of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Beauty, Fowey is also the point where travellers can catch vehicle and passenger ferries across the river to Polruan and Bodinnick. This seaside town is filled with beautiful beaches and plays host to a variety of water activities including kayaking, boating and kite surfing. It is also a great destination for horseback riding and golf. No trip to this stunning town is complete without a visit to Headland Garden, which is located on the opposite of the river near Polruan and gives great views of the river, the town and the sea. On this side too, the ancient blockhouses dating from 1380 are worth a visit. There is a large selection of accommodation, with the majority of Fowey hotels being high-end. The town is fairly easy to get to with the A390 heading into town via Par; buses run from the Par railway station into the town.
