Introduction to Folkestone, England
At one time Folkestone was a major resort in the south of England. That was when train loads of holidaymakers headed for the town, particularly from London. Nowadays all that remains are some fine examples of Victorian architecture that include several fine hotels in Folkestone. There is still plenty to see and do in the town and it is easy to spend a few hours strolling around the shops in the centre or taking a bracing walk along the coastal path. There are a few good hotels in Folkestone with the better selection not far from the harbour. If you are dining out you will find several good restaurants selling freshly caught seafood or there is always the seaside favourite; fish and chips. Some nearby places worth visiting from Folkestone hotels are located in Canterbury, Dover and Hythe all with a selection of attractions. If you want to travel further afield, France is just the other side of the Channel Tunnel.other spellings: folke stone otel, folkestone hotell, folkestone hote, folkestone hotles
