Introduction to Folkestone - City Centre

Located on the coast in the far southwest of England in Kent, Folkestone for many is the gateway to the continent as the entrance to the Channel Tunnel and a town lying close to the ferry terminal at Dover. Although most people come to load their cars onto trains at the Channel Tunnel, many stay to see the numerous attractions the town has to offer. Visitors can ride the Cliff Lift, a wonder of Victorian engineering which traverses the coastal area with superb views of the sea.
