Introduction to Fareham, England
Located on the northwest side of Portsmouth Harbour is the Hampshire town of Fareham. Historically known as a clay brick, pot and tile producing town it now houses many bank offices and call centres. High Street is where most of the action is, with many fine-dining eateries, Georgian buildings and fashionable shops lining the street. Buildings of note include the 19th century Corn Exchange, while Westbury Manor Museum gives insights into life in an earlier age. There are many accommodation options throughout the town, with many being mid-range to high-end bed and breakfasts, although there are also a few mid-range Fareham hotels. The M27 motorway passes through the outskirts of town as well as roads A27 and A32, and trains arrive at the railway station along the West Coastway Line. The A27 will take travellers into the neighbouring town of Portchester, which houses a spectacular medieval castle located at the edge of the Portsmouth Harbour. It also leads to the town of Tichfield, its neighbour to the west where visitors can tour its medieval abbey. other spellings: frehanhotels, otel phrehan, farehan hotell, farehma hote, fareahm hotes, farheam
