Introduction to Dudley - Beach
Once the industrial heartland of England, the West Midlands Black Country conurbation of Dudley has a history that dates back to the Anglo-Saxon era. Its long heritage is evidenced by medieval Dudley Castle, set on a hill above the town. In fact, the region's history goes back 420 million years, when the site on which Dudley stands was once cliffs and a beach. Nowadays, a popular manmade beach is the chief attraction at Himley Hall Park visitor centre, the 18th century family seat of the Earls of Dudley. Himley Park is one of the West Midland's premier events venues, with golf, fishing, orienteering, sailing, music and classic car shows and events, and much more, held here. Over 200,000 visitors a year enjoy the facilities, with a good selection of comfortable Dudley Beach hotels on hand to accommodate visitors. Back in town are the Black Country Living Museum, Dudley Zoo, the local museum and art gallery, and Broadfield House Glass Museum, displaying the fascinating history of this famous glass-blowing area. other spellings: dudleyhotels bech, dudly hote bech, otel bech in dudle, dudley hotell beach, dhudley
