Introduction to Crewe - City Centre
The English town of Crewe lies in South Cheshire and is famous for its essential role in the developing story of England's railways. The town was founded in the 1830s when the railway arrived as a vast rail junction and marshalling yards for the then burgeoning country-wide rail network. It's still the rail gateway to the northwest and links to the visitor hubs of Chester, Liverpool and Manchester. It's a compact town, with its city centre taken over by the usual retail outlets, with the local outdoor and covered markets giving much more interesting opportunities for shopping. Also in the city centre are several popular pubs offering accommodation and serving great pub grub, plus a small selection of Crewe City Centre hotels. The fascinating Roman town of Chester is a short trip away, and the famous maritime city of Liverpool, now a cultural city as well, is great for a daytrip. Nantwich and Middlewich are attractive market towns with good restaurants and pretty buildings. other spellings: crewehotels center, criwe otel, crewi city hotell, crewy hote, crewe hotles, crewwe
