Cleator town is located in Cumbria, England, just over two kilometres from Cleator Moor town. Cleator is the older of the two settlements, with Cleator Moor situated to the north of the village. Cleator is serenely set on the River Ehen. The town's Anglican church, St Leonard's, was built in the 1100s. Also here is St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, which opened in 1872.
