Castle Hotel Taunton - England

The Castle Hotel Taunton has been in business for some 60 years now so it is considered to be one of the city’s historic landmarks. The hotel also prides itself in being the only property to have its restaurant both in the 2011 Good Food Guide and the one released in 1951. That sure is telling of how good the food being served is. All rooms have beverage facilities. Garden rooms offer views of the 12th century remains of an old moat and castle keep. Attractions in the area include the Taunton Racecourse and the Somerset County Cricket Ground.

The newly decorated restaurant has a Michelin star and has won a host of other awards including 'Best outside of London' in Tatlers Restaurant Awards 2002. Alternatively, there is a contemporary brasserie with its starlit dome and fibre optic lit dome with great food in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Once a Norman Fortress the hotel has been welcoming travellers since the 12th century.
