Introduction to Buxted, England
In England's East Sussex region is the small town of Buxted, a town on the edge of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Once an important cannon and iron-making centre, the town has evolved into a quiet rural parish with a touch of agricultural activity. The most popular thing to do around Buxted is walk. There are dozens of wonderful walking paths, ranging from short outings in the Ashdown Forest to long-distance routes on the Wealdway and Vanguard Way. The town is easily accessed by rail on the London-Uckfield line or by road via the main Sussex trunk road. The town has a long, interesting history but has remained a modest hamlet with little commercial activity apart from a handful of restaurants, pubs and shops. The best hotels in Buxted are at the historic Buxted Park, though many more options for accommodation, dining, drinking and shopping can be found in the two nearby market towns of Uckfield and Crowborough. other spellings: buxtedhotels, boxted otel, buxtid hotell, buxted hote, buxted hotes, bute hotle
