Introduction to Bude, England

An area of stunning natural beauty, Bude is quite a gem and largely hidden away in the outback of the English countryside. Though this southwest county is well known, many people today remain unaware of the attractions of this wonderful seaside resort town in North Cornwall, which was reasonably popular with Britain's middle classes towards the end of the reign of Queen Victoria. Hotels in Bude have seen their share of surfers, thanks to the impressive surf breaks, which are amongst the best in Britain. You need not be a beach bum to enjoy this wonderful town, however. The coastal scenery is fantastic and the surrounding countryside offers a breathtaking mix of cliff-top views and sandy beaches. Wildemouth Bay and Sandymouth Beach are amongst the most popular seaside areas near the town. Coastal exploration is a favourite with both visitors and locals, who enjoy the many smaller beaches and coves that can be discovered.
