Introduction to Broadstairs, England
The popular little East Kent seaside resort of Broadstairs sits above a harbour renowned for its smuggling history and was recently voted the second-best seaside resort in England by a leading national newspaper. With its clean sandy beaches and non-polluted, if slightly chilly waters, its variety of restaurants, pubs, fish and chip shops and Broadstairs hotels, it's still the epitome of a traditional British seaside town with its Victorian architecture and appeal. Broadstairs is easily accessible by rail from London's Victoria Station via the line which runs through fashionable Whitstable, quaint Herne Bay and the larger resort towns of Ramsgate and Margate. The town lies just 25kms from the famous heritage city of Canterbury, with its glorious medieval cathedral, and 120kms from London by road via the M2 motorway. Attractions include Bleak House, the former home of the legendary Charles Dickens, the picturesque St Peter's Village and the totally traditional activities on the beaches, including Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides. A stay in Broadstairs is a charming and de-stressing trip back in time to the pre-and just-post-WWII years. other spellings: broadstaisrhotels, otelin broadstaris, broadtiars hotell, broadsatir hote, broadsair
