Introduction to Bristol - Airport
Bristol Airport is eight miles from the actual city centre, heading south on the A38. The airport handles just under six million passengers a year, and the top three destinations that it serves are Dublin, Edinburgh and Amsterdam, although regular flights also go to Spain and Paris Charles de Gaulle. On the terminal's ground floor are a small number of food and drink outlets, as well as shops. After going through security checks, on the first floor and mezzanine passengers will find a wider selection of places to eat and drink and more stores selling books, pharmaceuticals and duty-free items. All three levels have ATMs, internet desks, currency exchanges and meeting points for passengers needing special assistance. Bristol Airport hotels can be found within a few miles of the terminal and, to get to them or for continuing destinations, taxis can be booked at the desk along the covered walkway between the terminal and drop off area.
