Introduction to Brighton - Beach
The path of least resistance for Londoners looking for a break by the sea, Brighton Beach has fast become a seaside phenomenon. Unlike many beach resorts in the UK, it's a place that has rolled with the times, constantly reinventing itself by remaining modern and tolerant. The gay and lesbian scene here exemplifies this spirit. Brighton Pier remains the heart of the city's beach identity, featuring the classic mix of candy floss and amusements that makes it a draw for families. The beach itself is mostly pebble and extremely pleasant when temperatures rise, by UK standards. The main promenade is a great place for a stroll given the good views and array of places to hang out close by including shops, cafés and bars. After dark, the area is even livelier. Brighton Beach hotels are concentrated on the western side of the pier, on King's Road. Prices are typically high but there are options for those on a tight budget.Visit our Brighton Travel Guide
