Introduction to Braunton, England
Waterside Braunton lies eight kilometres from Barnstaple in Devon county. It is thought to be the largest village in England, with a population of some 7,000 residents. Its chief sites are its many old and lovely churches. The most scenic of them is St Brannock's, the parish church, which has arches and other architectural detail dating to the 1300s plus a Norman era tower crowned by a spire. A popular Braunton event is the annual carnival held each late May. Surfing has really taken off here in recent times. Conditions for catching waves are superb at the beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton. Braunton is also graced with a gorgeous stretch of sand dunes along the coast. This is the biggest dune network in England. More than 400 vascular plant species are protected and make their homes here. Endearing Braunton hotels make it easy to linger in the area and drink in its beguiling natural and cultural attractions.other spellings: brantnhotels, otelin briantun, branton hotell, brunton hote, blantun hotes, brandon
