The Devonshire village of Branscombe is found on England’s southwest coast, at the heart of a spectacular shoreline that has been christened the Jurassic Coast due to its splendid rock forms and fossils. There is a choice of centrally located hotels in Branscombe in the village. Among tourism draws in the village are Manor Mill and Forge, and the Branscombe Vale Brewery. The South West Coastal Path runs through the village. Guests holidaying here can reach Beer, Undercliff and Seaton eastwards on the path, and Sidmouth in the opposite direction. The cliff-top path gives panoramic views of the village and its beach, and out across Lyme Bay. The area around the village is great for swimming, fishing, deep sea fishing cruises and horseback riding. Visitors make like to visit the 12th century Saint Winifred’s Church, where a memorial to Wadham, a former lord of the property in the late 14th century and the benefactor of the college of the same name in Oxford, is situated.
