A scenic market town with plenty of history, Brampton in Cumbria offers visitors an excellent base for exploring the immediate region, which is perhaps best known as home to Hadrian's Wall. Less than 10 miles from the city of Carlisle, the town is easily reached by road or rail. A few minutes' drive on the nearby A69 is all it takes to reach the M6 motorway. The town is easily explored on foot, which is probably the best way to enjoy a gentle tour past the likes of the historic Capon Tree Monument, the stunning stained glass and pre-Raphaelite architecture at St Martin's Church, and the cute Moot Hall, with its eight walls. Hotels in Brampton can be found right in the centre of town. There is a wealth of alternative accommodation just outside the town and in many communities along Hadrian's Wall. Nature lovers will enjoy the mature forests located only two miles from here, of course, the scenery of Cumbria is famously beautiful.
