Introduction to Bradford - Outskirts
Situated in West Yorkshire, close to the bigger city of Leeds, Bradford lies within touching distance of the Pennines, which begin on the hilly and picturesque outskirts of the city. Outside of Bradford there are a number of excellent golf courses, including Bingley St Ives, Shipley, West Bradford and Northcliffe, among a host of others. On Bradford outskirts to the east are a number of woods, making this a distinctly green area of the United Kingdom. Many Bradford hotels are conveniently located in this green belt between the city and Bradford Leeds Airport, close to the A658, which eventually hits Leeds Road. Visitors to the area may also like to make a trip to the spa town of Harrogate, home to tea rooms and gardens, or the Victorian town of Todmorden, where a busy market, top-notch eateries and lots of greenery are located. The queen is said to visit one of Harrogate's tea rooms when she passes through this part of Yorkshire.
