Introduction to Bishop Stortford, England
The old market town of Bishop Stortford is a popular community located in the commuter belt of Hertfordshire, to the north of London. The combination of excellent rail and road links with nearby London Stansted Airport makes this an attractive destination both for long-term residents and visitors staying at hotels in Bishop Stortford. The local area, East Hertfordshire, is regularly voted one of the country's best places to live. There are fast rail services to London's Liverpool Street station, as well as to nearby Cambridge. The London subway system can be reached at Epping station, which is only 12 miles away. The M11 motorway makes the town an excellent choice for drivers, too. This pretty area was originally settled in Roman times and has had a busy history in the centuries since, with remnants of Saxon, Norman and Tudor communities found in the area. Fans of modern amenities will enjoy the Rhodes Arts Complex, where theatre, film, conferencing and dance events are held.other spellings: bishop stortfordhotels, bshop stortford otel, bishopstortford hotell, bisehop stotfod
