Bath has been a tourist city since Roman days and so the range of Bath hotels is enormous and diverse. Many Bath hotels aim to deliver tourists to the thermal baths as conveniently as possible and these establishments tend to be marvelously old and atmospheric hotels with old-fashioned, attentive service. Bath hotels can be found throughout the city, which is compact enough to cover on foot and the walking tours are legendary. Because there are so many hotels in Bath, booking ahead isn’t really necessary even at peak season, but of course, if you had a particular hotel in mind, you would be advised to make a reservation.
