Introduction to Barton upon Humber, England
Situated 10kms southwest of Hull and 74kms east of Leeds, Barton upon Humber, known as Barton for short, is a small town in Lincolnshire county, northeastern England, with oversized attractions. An old train line connects the area with the rest of England. The town is scrumptiously ensconced on the Humber estuary's south bank, set at the Humber Bridge's southern end. Although the town is small, it uniquely features two big medieval churches. What is more, they are only 150 metres apart. The larger, older church, St Peter's, has a fine tower from Saxon days. The other church, St Mary's, is thought to have originally been a chapel next to a marketplace and thrived in the 1100s and 1200s. In the early 2000s, Baysgarth Park's Baysgarth Leisure Centre as well as Baysgarth House Museum, located in the stately Baysgarth House, opened to the public. Barton upon Humber hotels are steeped in history and hospitality. other spellings: barton upon humberhotels, baton upon otel, barton upon hambor hotell, bartun upon
