Introduction to Bakewell, England
The town of Bakewell, Derbyshire, is popular as it is within the famous Peak District National Park in England’s north. It is the only town inside the stunning park and is therefore busy with tourists year-round. Hotels in Bakewell are mostly run by local people. The River Wye and Buxton Road run their way through the pretty town, yet the surroundings aren't the only appeal of a visit here. Bakewell tart has been a favourite British dessert for decades and originated in the town. Numerous bakeries and restaurants here serve their versions of the original recipe. The compact town can be entirely traversed on foot. There are a handful of shops as well as a museum and a weekly market. Walking in the Peak District is what most people come to the area for but those who wish to stay in the immediate vicinity can stroll the riverside in Bakewell.
