Introduction to Ashwell, England
In the English county of Hertfordshire is the lovely little town of Ashwell, one of the most wonderfully preserved old villages in the country. The range of architecture here is amazing, with highlights like the 14th-century parish church and its fascinating medieval graffiti. Everything from medieval cottages to fine town homes can be found within Ashwell, including a number of heritage buildings such as Chantry House, St John's Guildhall and Foresters Cottages. A few of these historic buildings have been converted into Ashwell hotels. There are three charismatic pubs in town as well as a traditional restaurants and a smattering of shops. The remains of an Iron Age hill fort can be explored just south of town at Arbury Banks, while nearby natural springs provide the water source of the River Cam. Check out the Ashwell Village Museum to learn more about the diverse aspects of this charming village. It is easy to get here by road via the A1 motorway or by train.other spellings: ashwellhotels, ahswell hotell, ashwel otel, ashwall hote, ahwell hotles, aswhell hotes
