Introduction to Appleby, England
Located in North Lincolnshire, in England, Appleby is a very small village of only about 600 inhabitants. It’s perhaps most famous for its professional Quidditch team, which is the sport depicted in the Harry Potter novels. Just five kilometres away, or a five-minute drive away, is the much larger town of Scunthorpe, where a greater number of tourist facilities are located. Scunthorpe can be easily accessed via the B1207 road. As expected of such a small town, Appleby hotels are quaint and charming, each boasting a unique character. The village offers a handful of restaurants within a stone’s throw of each other and the main road through town, the B1207. Visits to Scunthorpe can include shopping, museum-hopping or clubbing depending on your tastes. The best museum in Appleby’s larger neighbour is the North Lincolnshire Museum, where interactive exhibits span the themes of archeology and nature among other themes.
