Introduction to Addlestone, England
In the county of Surrey in Runnymede borough is the small town of Addelstone. There is a lot of history in this little hamlet as well as some fascinating landmarks such as the Crouch Oak, a tree dating back to the 11th century. Legend states Queen Elizabeth I once had a picnic under this tree, and it also used to mark the boundary of Windsor Great Park. St Paul's Church is another notable attraction in Addlestone. The stone building is wonderfully preserved and popular with architecture buffs visiting the area. Addlestone hotels are not overly abundant, but there are several historic inns scattered around the village centre that make for nice accommodation. Visitors can expect to find a smattering of pubs, restaurants and basic shops in the centre of town but nothing too trendy. The town is easy to reach via the M25 motorway as well as by rail on the Chertsey Branch Line.
