Introduction to Abingdon, England
Technically named Abingdon-upon-Thames for its position along the banks of the River Thames, the city of Abingdon is based around its markets. There is a variety of shops and restaurants within the city, which is situated close to Oxford, one of England’s most visited destinations. London is just over 100kms to the southwest. Abingdon hotels usually accommodate travellers using the city as a base to explore Oxfordshire. The city of Oxford can be quite a hassle and somewhat expensive in relation to the peacefulness of this nearby city. Getting to the town can be done via motorway from London or Oxford. However, for those travellers without motor vehicles, trains tun from London to Oxford, from where buses connect to Abingdon. The town’s abbey is the main historical attraction, only a gateway of which remains, while the County Hall Museum is the best place to gain insight into the town’s past.other spellings: abingdonhotels, arbingdon otel, hotell in abingdan, abingdun hote, abindgon hotle
