Hurghada Marine Museum: based at a local marine biology station, this museum houses an aquarium with a variety of sea species and some dry exhibits of marine origin also.
Egyptian Museum: located in Cairo, this is the city’s cultural highlight with its impressive collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts among which are mummified bodies and a number of items retrieved from Tutankhamen’s tomb.
Coptic Museum: Cairo’s Coptic Museum boasts the world’s largest collection of Coptic Christian artwork with the earliest pieces dating back to ancient Egyptian times.
Luxor Museum: located on the Luxor corniche, overlooking the river Nile, this impressive facility houses a varied selection of artefacts, among which are items from Tutankhamen’s tomb, the mummified bodies of the pharaohs, Ahmose I and Ramses I, and 26 New Kingdom statues that were discovered during excavations near Luxor Temple in 1989.
