By air: a domestic airport maintains connections with Cairo and Abu Simbel, serving over 75 flights per week with Egypt Air offering six flights a day to Cairo and three per day to Abu Simbel.
By rail: rail services are available between Aswan and other major cities in Egypt with overnight services running to and from the capital Cairo and taking around 10 hours either way.
By road: Aswan can be reached relatively easily from most major cities in the country with the majority of routes along paved roads. From Cairo, visitors can expect the journey by road to take about 15 to 16 hours.
