Health and safety issues are unlikely to be of any consequence to those with no pre-existing medical conditions while high standards of medical care are readily available for those who do encounter problems. With English commonly spoken, there are unlikely to be any language barriers for UK visitors and those with reasonable English-speaking skills.
Safety: Denmark do;es not suffer from the blight of high levels of crime that many European countries are inflicted with and is largely a very safe place to visit. Petty crime however exists in the same forms as anywhere and with relative prevalence in inner city areas so all visitors are wise to exercise a little caution while out and about and to be mindful of situations that might bring them into encounters with the ill-intentioned.
When to go: the summer months offer the most ideal weather conditions for visiting Denmark however it’s fair to say that country can be visited any time of the year really on account of its temperate climate. July and August see temperature highs of around 21°C and lows of 55°C; ideal conditions for sightseeing or a little daytime relaxation outdoors.
The winter is by no means harsh but can see temperatures dropping below freezing on occasion. Since the bulk of the country’s festivals occur in the summer season, this would also be a good reason to take a holiday at this time of the year.
Language: Danish is the official language of Denmark however visitors will find English is widely spoken and generally with competence. German is also spoken by many Danish people.
