Copenhagen Travel Guide - Day Trips
Dragor: is located on the island of Amager, which is just south of Copenhagen’s airport and around 30 minutes drive or bus ride from the city centre. Dragor is a small fishing hamlet that used to be home to many of the region’s shipping captains.
There is a quaint atmosphere here, owing to the town’s narrow, cobbled streets, its small, but colourful houses and lovely flower gardens. In the summer, local museums conduct re-enactments of historic events and a number of popular restaurants feature local fare.
The island of Zealand (Sjalland): is actually the island on which Copenhagen is situated and it has many attractions that visitors often don’t visit.
High on the list of prime sights here are some stunning palaces and castles, including the famous Kronborg Castle, which Shakespeare made home to his character Hamlet, Frederiksborg, which is marvellous example of Renaissance architecture, and Fredensborg, the royal summer palace. A bit farther from the city is Lund, a picturesque location and one of Europe’s most famous university towns.
