Sport: Aarhus has hosted many top sporting events over recent years including the 2002 European Women's Handball Championship and the 2006 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. The city is the hub of sport in Denmark and several clubs are based in the area.

The Bakken Bears is a successful basketball team, while Aarhus GF handball team were European Cup runners-up. Matches can be seen at Atletion sports centre in Marselisborg Park.

Cycling: Aarhus is a small and flat city so hiring a bike is a great way of getting around and viewing the attractions. There are good cycling paths including the Ringgaden road path that will take you to the Old Town and Botanical Gardens, and the Brabrandstien path that connects to the Brabrand Lake.
