Introduction to Koge, Denmark
The seaport of Koge rests just 40kms southwest of Denmark's capital, Copenhagen. While the town is often used as a transport point, it has a number of attractions that warrant an overnight stay in Koge hotels. The Old Town features dozens of well-preserved half-timbered homes, one of which houses the fascinating Koge Museum. This museum, set within a 17th century merchant's home, is just a few doors away from an art museum housing an impressive sketch collection. Nearby is the country's oldest dated half-timbered house, which doubles as the Nordic region's oldest and today forms part of the public library. The Town Hall dates to the mid-16th century and is just a stone's throw from the medieval market square. The centrally located Sankt Nicolai Church uniquely has a lighthouse in its tower. Getting here is easy via Copenhagen's commuter rail system, and most of the main attractions are within walking distance of the town's station. other spellings: kogehotels, koke otel, koge hotell, kogge hote, koge hotle, coge hotes, koge
