Introduction to Horsens, Denmark
The historic Danish town of Horsens, with a history dating back to the 12th century, is on the northeastern coast of the country, in the region of Jutland. The town has become quite well known for its annual European Medieval Festival. There is also a Crime Festival organised by the public library. The hotels in Horsens are to be found mainly in the town centre and range from the larger Danish and international chain types through to small privately run establishments. One such is a manor house dating back to 1775 set in the nearby park. Visitors to the town have a choice of attractions to select from, including the interesting Industrial Museum, the only one in Denmark, as well as the Art Gallery, Horsens Abbey church, the Nimbus Motorcycle Museum and the Glud Museum, just outside the town.
