Introduction to Frederikshavn, Denmark
Frederikshavn is a northern town in Denmark in the Jutland region and is a major location for sea connections to Sweden and Norway. The most of the hotels in Frederikshavn are located along the seafront near the terminals for the car ferries and provide the opportunity for an overnight stop before heading on to Norway or Sweden. They are to a good standard and owned by some of the best names in the business. The town has been a centre for business and leisure travel for a long time and caters to the business traveller as well as the budget tourist. There is a large naval base here, home to the Danish royal yacht. In town, visitors should take in the interesting Powder Tower (Krudttarnet) housed in a Martello tower, Bangsbo Museum and Fladstrand church.
