Introduction to Esbjerg - City Centre
A major port city located on the west coast of Denmark, Esbjerg is the country's fifth-largest city and a major transport hub in the North Sea region. Unsurprisingly, most of the action here revolves around the nearby sea. The Man at Sea is the city's most iconic statue, featuring four white figures nine metres tall, while the Fisheries and Maritime Museum traces the various industries associated with Denmark's maritime past and present, and is the largest of its kind in the country. Esbjerg city centre features an impressive red-brick town hall around a square that makes a pleasant area for walking, and close by is the Water Tower, constructed in a similar style. Esbjerg City Centre hotels are mostly situated in and around the North Sea waterfront, close to Vognsbol Park, a pleasant expanse of green and lakes, and on nearby Stormgade, which runs north to south adjacent to the city's university.
