Introduction to Tabor, Czech Republic

The South Bohemian Region town of Tabor is located in the Czech Republic and was established by the Hussites back in the 15th century. This impressive town boasts a wealth of historical attractions, and yet it still manages to offer a large number of modern amenities such as excellent Tabor hotels, bars and restaurants. One of the main landmarks here is the reservoir, which can be found at the very heart of the town. This body of water has the distinction of being the oldest reservoir in the whole of Central Europe, and walking beside the reservoir on a sunny day is an uplifting experience. Also of note nearby is the Gothic Town Hall, while the nearby 15th century Dean Church of Lord's Conversion on Mount Tabor has been built in the Bohemian Renaissance style. The church boasts a number of interesting features, such as a large altar at the end of a long aisle. The church comes complete with a tall tower, and visitors who climb to the top of the tower will be treated to stunning views of Tabor and the surrounding area.
