Introduction to Prague - Outskirts
The edge of Prague is mostly residential and quiet, and although in some parts the buildings are quite pretty, tourists normally only visit Prague’s outskirts on their way to the airport. Perhaps the biggest reason to visit this area of the city is to escape the busy centre for a day or two. If visitors head to the north of Prague, they will soon come across Sarka Lysolaje National Park, which is a vast protected area. In the park, tourists are advised to hike the red route, which will take them to the most impressive sights. There is a prehistoric fort called Wild Sarka and an area called Devil's Mill, which is very scenic. Hostivar National Park, in the southeast of Prague outskirts, offers visitors the chance to play golf. Prague hotels in the outskirts are less prevalent than those in the city centre where most major attractions are situated. Visit our Prague Travel Guide
