Introduction to Prague - Mala Strana
Prague’s Mala Strana is one of the city's main areas of interest for visitors due to the impressive amount of historical buildings on display here. Tourists will easily spend a large proportion of their holiday in this area. Perhaps the focal point of Mala Strana is the Wallenstein Palace. It is a complex of Baroque-influenced houses, among which sit five courtyards and a garden called French Park. St Nicholas Church is another historical building that is popular due to its fine architectural design and religious significance. This area is popular with Catholics since it houses the Infant Jesus of Prague statue in the Church of Our Lady Victorious, which is a pilgrimage site for many of the denomination’s followers. Strolling around the streets of Mala Strana, tourists will be presented with a number of prestigious eateries and cafes, while the area around the Charles Bridge also has some bars and nightclubs. Mala Strana hotels are generally expensive but the upside is that visitors will be close to the main attractions. Visit our Prague Travel Guide
