Introduction to Prague - Liben
Sitting on the attractive river peninsula that makes up the area to the north of the centre, Prague's Liben is a green area of the city. Baroque Liben Castle is the undoubted historic highlight of the district. The famous writer Bohumil Hrabal was born in the area and there are murals that depict him and his much loved cats about the district. Prosecke Skaly is one of the biggest parks in Prague and a great place for picnicking during the warm summers. The river here is dominated by a series of channels and makes a good area to get around on foot. Access to central Prague from here is made simple by the tram lines that run through the area. It takes less than 15 minutes to reach the heart of the city.
