Introduction to Prague - Airport
Prague Airport has won awards for the design and simplicity of its terminals. It is located around 30kms northwest of the city and it is possible to get to the centre of the city from here by train, with the 10km route quite scenic. Two terminals, one for Schengen destinations and another for non-Schengen destinations, serve the airport, which is equipped with all the usual amenities such as ATMs. There is little of actual interest around the airport. There are a few small towns close by, but they are commuter towns and mostly residential. There is, however, a large national park on the edge of the airport, Sarka Lysolaje, which has many important archeological sites and a national monument called the Sarka Settlement. Visitors to the park should follow the red circle hiking trail which will take them to all of the most interesting places, including Devil's Mill and Wild Sarka, a prehistoric fort. There are no Prague airport hotels on site, with the closest ones several kilometres away.Visit our Prague Travel Guide
