Introduction to Olomouc, Czech Republic
Besides Prague, Olomouc is considered to be the second-most historical place in the Czech Republic. Located on the banks of the Morava River, it is also one of the biggest cities in the country. The fastest way to reach Olomouc hotels is by train, with services from Prague taking no more than 2 hours, 30 minutes. On arrival, the best way to get acquainted with the city is by joining a walking tour. This way, visitors should be able to visit all the most important sights. Otherwise, visitors can explore the city independently with a more flexible itinerary. A good place to start is Upper Square, where the Town Hall and the UNESCO-recognised Holy Trinity Column are the main architectural attractions. In fact, Holy Trinity Column is the tallest column in Europe. Away from the square, St Wenceslas Cathedral is the most important church in the city. Visitors cannot miss the church, whose spire towers over Olomouc. Visitors more interested in nature might like to visit the Botanic Gardens. A visit to the gardens can be combined with seeing the nearby St Michael's Church, with its wonderful Baroque-style interior.other spellings: olomouchotels, olomoc otel, olomoc hotell, olomou hote, hotes in olomou
