Nicosia has been the island’s capital for over 1,000 years and is full of historical relics and ruins. The city is uniquely divided by the famous 'green line', which separates the north of the city from the south. The north of the city is governed by Turkey, and the dividing line was created in 1974, when Turkey invaded. Throughout the island, you will find a whole host of activities suitable for the entire family. There are ample sightseeing opportunities for visitors, who will find an abundance of attractions suited to all ages and interests.
