Frenaros: the village of Frenaros has some interesting small churches: Ayios Andronikos and the Archangelos Micheal date from the 12th century; and the church of Ayia Marina features some quite interesting frescoes.
Liopetri: has a 16th century church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary; and also the 15th century church of Ayios Andronikos, featuring an octagonal dome and an apse with lovely murals. Liopetri is noted for its Ayios Andronikos wine: if you’re interested in the region’s traditional crafts, it’s also noted for basket-making.
Potamos Liopetriou: is a picturesque and protected fishing community, where you’ll find nearby the remains of a Venetian watch-tower. The French poet Rimbaud lived and wrote here in the 1880s.
Sotira: at the east end of Sotira, you’ll come across the partially-intact church of Ayios Mamas, built in the 12th century and then later rebuilt in the 16th. Most of its surviving frescoes date from the latter reconstruction. About a mile to the west is another church from the 16th century, the cruciform church of Panayia Chordakiotissa and also the church of Ayios Georgios.
Protaras: is a more recently-developed resort near Agia Napa, which is considered more up-market by some. There are nice beaches and coves here and a bit more of a family-orientation, with entertainment for children, plenty of nice hotels and villas and a good variety in nightlife, but with closing times quite a bit earlier than in Agia Napa.
