Introduction to Paphos - Peyia
Nestled among the slopes that rise out of the Mediterranean at Coral Bay, a major beach resort, Peyia is a scenic little town situated less than 10 miles north of Paphos. Peyia forest, which lies north of the town and higher up, is a great place for hiking. It manages to escape the worst of the heat that is so evident down at sea level, to boot. The views of Coral Bay and Paphos from Peyia are breathtaking on a clear day. The town has become a haven for expats and holiday homes in recent years, a status which has seen it expand. There is now a good selection of bars and restaurants to choose from, plus a few small shops. This is a good place to stay for those that want to escape the heat and hordes of tourists on the coast.
